What is Wet Grinding

Wet grinding, or wet milling, is a process involving the grinding of solid materials into fine particles with the addition of liquids such as water, emulsion, or oil. Many materials like ceramics, minerals, and metallic materials are often ground by wet grinding.

Generally, this process involves two stages to grind the material down to the desired size.

The first stage is de-agglomeration. Particles prior to grinding are held together by van der Waals forces between molecules, forming agglomerates that are forced to break apart through the tolerance clearances of wet grinding machines. Sometimes, a dispersing agent is added to the grinder to prevent particles from reforming.

The second stage involves grinding the materials into the desired sizes. Particles are ground to submicron or even nano level by the friction among the material, the grinding media, and the grinder.

Each of our wet grinding mills is customized according to the specific needs of customers. You can contact us via huaamestrong@126.com to discuss wet grinding or if you have any other related questions.
